Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship

Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship program allows Canadian citizens and permanent residents to sponsor their parents and grandparents to become permanent residents of Canada if both the sponsors and sponsored persons meet the eligibility requirements.

Currently, the sponsorship is a two-step process:

The Canadian child fills out the interest to sponsor form
If selected in the annual draw, the sponsor will get an invitation letter to submit the complete application for sponsorship to IRCC before the deadline.

If you sponsor your parents and grandparents, you must:

Support them and their dependants financially
Make sure they don’t need social assistance from the government

The Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship program for the year 2021 has been closed.

If you are invited to apply for parents and grandparents sponsorship program (PGP)

You only have 60 days from the date of the invitation letter to submit your complete application package to IRCC. Since time is of the essence, gathering all the required documents and filling out the forms correctly is crucial for the PGP program, as all other immigration matters.
