Make your dream of studying in Canada come true with Immibright!
A Study Permit is a document issued by the Immigration, Refugee, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) that allows foreign nationals to study at designated learning institutions (DLI) in Canada. A Study Permit is essential for any foreign student who wishes to pursue studies in Canada, as it ensures that the student will comply with the country’s immigration and education laws. Without a Study Permit, individuals may not be allowed to study in Canada and may face legal consequences. Furthermore, obtaining a Study Permit is beneficial because it allows international students to work on-campus and off-campus, provided that all conditions are met, as well as giving them the opportunity to apply for permanent residency after graduation.
The student needs to apply for a study permit before travelling to Canada. Some people can apply for a study permit from within Canada. In some other cases, you can apply when you arrive in Canada at the port of entry.
Before applying for a study permit, you normally need an acceptance letter from a designated learning institution (DLI). We’re working with more than 800 schools in Canada and we can help you with your admission process and getting the acceptance letter.
Designated learning institutions
Provinces and territories have been authorized to select schools that can accept international students. These institutions receive the designation of designated learning institutions (DLI) and must appear on a list established and regularly updated by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada. When submitting an application for a study permit, applicants must be accepted by a DLI or otherwise their application will be rejected.
